This is how the Dresden-based robot startup Wandelbots plans to pull off the strategy pivot

The Dresden-based robot startup Wandelbots has undertaken a radical restructuring of the company in recent months. 'We have thrown out everything related to hardware,' says founder and CEO Christian Piechnick in an interview with Gründerszene. 'We had to take this step to be successful in the long term.' It wasn't necessarily a cost-cutting measure, but a strategic decision. Nonetheless, it hit many employees hard. 27 percent, or around 30 employees, left the company through a voluntary program. 'We re-evaluated everything to be successful,' says Piechnick. The startup is now focusing on its core software business.
