From a Thesis Student to a Full Time Employee – Paul’s Story
Paul started working for Wandelbots as the first employee after handing in his diploma thesis. He has summarized his experiences and impressions since then in the following lines.
Paul says: “As a Technical Design student at TU Dresden, I worked on a school project that needed some input from a skilled computer programmer; that was when I met Maria Piechnick. Eventually, when Wandelbots was founded, I joined the company and became the first employee. At that time, we were just a team of 8 people – 7 founders and me. I started off as working student and after I completed my diploma thesis, I joined the company as a full-time product and interaction designer.
Our goal is to create a bridge that connects the user and the Wandelbots software. It should be characterized by optimal functionality, seamless operations and intuitive design. In the design team we are challenged every day to come up with innovative solutions that never existed before. This is only possible because we are more a group of friends than colleagues and because of the absence of a mundane rigid structure. That’s what I love most about my job and about the company in its entirety. Here, you’re compelled to reinvent ideas with the assurance that every opinion is acknowledged equally and hierarchies are almost invisible. If you’re looking forward to joining us, it’s important that you are proactive, curious about new challenges and never afraid to ask questions or express yourself.”
Take the first leap here; an exciting opportunity awaits you!
PS: When I’m not at the Wandelvilla, there is a good chance that you will find me on a surf- or a skateboard.
