The Robotics Start-up Wandelbots Focuses on Software

With its TracePen—a digital pen for teaching robot positions—Wandelbots, spun out of TU Dresden in 2017, has made a name for itself beyond its industry. The robotics startup has raised approximately €115 million since then and secured major clients in the automotive sector (BMW, VW, Schae"er). However, the young company parted ways with its hardware business a year ago, resulting in the departure of about a third of its workforce. Co-founder Christian Piechnick remains committed to democratizing robotics, now focusing exclusively on software for simulating, programming, and operating robotic solutions.
